How this Red Shores guide gets made

Island Ticker is an independent guide to the two Red Shores halls, in Charlottetown and Summerside. This page tells you who writes it, how the facts were gathered and how the guide earns its money.

A group name, not a person

Island Ticker pages all carry one signature: the Island Ticker writers. It is a group name, and no single person is credited on any page. This guide is neither Red Shores nor redshores.ca.

Atlantic Lottery runs both halls for the PEI Lotteries Commission. Island Ticker is not owned by Red Shores, by Atlantic Lottery or by the Commission, and none of them shapes it. Nobody can bet or open an account on these pages. Think of it as outside reading for your evening out.

How the drawings were made

The drawings on these pages come from an image generator, and no camera made them. Three started from real photographs of the two Red Shores halls, with the viewpoint shifted slightly and the hour changed. Charlottetown gets the tent beside the track at supper time. Summerside gets the West End building at blue hour and the Summerside Raceway track in the morning. The red farm road and the harbour wharf have no real model, and the people in the pictures are invented.

Checking the facts

All content here was last verified on October 9, 2026, using the Red Shores pages at redshores.ca along with documents from the provincial government and its Lotteries Commission. Pages on gambling support from the province and pages from Atlantic Lottery were consulted as well. Some live pages turned away automated readers, so Internet Archive copies of those were used.

Island Ticker takes its distances from OpenStreetMap town points. Each figure is the direct line joining two such points, which makes it something other than a road distance or a door-to-door figure.

Where Red Shores leaves a topic blank, such as a dress code, table minimums or accessibility, Island Ticker says so plainly and labels it unpublished. Island Ticker has no forms, no comment box and no accounts to fill in. The single setting it holds on to is your light or dark display, kept inside the open browser tab.

Where the money comes from

The Island Ticker home page is the single spot holding paid links: three of them, each labelled Ad. Every one of the three points to the same privately owned online casino, and that operator pays Island Ticker each time a reader turns into its customer. Island Ticker may move to some other partner down the road. That casino runs as a company of its own, unconnected to alc.ca or to Red Shores. The guide's page on playing online lays out the province's position: offshore online casinos hold no power to run gaming on PEI.

Quick answers

Does Red Shores pay for this guide?

Red Shores pays nothing toward it. Atlantic Lottery and the PEI Lotteries Commission have no hand in it either. The money comes from three Ad links on the home page, which lead to one private online casino.

How often are the hours checked again?

The Island Ticker writers last went over every page on October 9, 2026. Holiday hours go unposted at both halls, so phone ahead: 902-620-4222 for Charlottetown, 902-888-5666 for Summerside.
